Labradoodles are the result of breeding a Labrador Retriever with a Poodle. The breed is medium-sized, typically less than 24 inches tall and up to 35 pounds. They have floppy ears and sparkling eyes, usually brown or hazel. The coat is dependent upon genetics but is not usually fluffy or thick. Coats can be a variety of colors: chalk, parchment, cream, apricot, gold, red, blue, cafe, caramel, chocolate, silver, black, and parti-coats including brindle, patched, phantom, and sable colors. As a Poodle mix, they are considered hypoallergenic and could be a good choice for those who suffer from allergies.

Labradoodles are happy, easy-going dogs who are very affectionate. They are great playmates for older children. They get along well with other dogs and love a jaunt to the local dog park for exercise and socialization. Although they can adapt to any home that prioritizes their daily exercise, they will do best in a home with a fenced-in yard that allows them to work out some of their energy outdoors. Exuberant, social, and loving, this breed makes a great addition to active families.
