Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever is known to get along well with children and other pets, making it an ideal family member. Their ears hang down to about the outer edge of their dark eyes. They will typically have black eye rims, nose, and lips. They have a dense, water repellent coat with a thick undercoat. The outer coat may be straight or wavy and will display lustrous color in varying shades of gold. You will find moderate feathering on underbody and forelegs, and more substantial feathering on the neck-front, back of the thighs, and underneath the tail.

Golden Retrievers are gentle, kind, and eager to please. They are active and affectionate, social and playful. An energetic pup with deep-rooted gundog and retriever instincts, your Golden Retriever will require exercise and mental stimulation to expend their energy and keep them from getting bored. They will thrive in homes where they can be active and spend time with their human family. Chasing balls and playing games are favorite pastimes. Your Golden Retriever sheds a lot, particularly during twice-a-year shed seasons. They will require regular brushing or using a shed glove.
